Option Timeline
Prior to Options Evening
Prior to the options evening there will be a week of dedicated tutor time with Year 9s. During this time tutors will encourage your child to perform a Self-review. In this self-review your child will be asked questions such as
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
- What are your future career options?
- What are your favourite subjects?
On the week beginning 27th January Mr Derbyshire will deliver a presentation to Year 9 Assembly with regard to the option process. Following the presentation, students will be informed of their recommended pathway. The option booklets will then be distributed to students on the 6th February during the Options Evening.
Between the 27th January and the7th February, there will be an opportunity for students to discuss their options with the careers advisor Mrs Edge during Lunchtime drop in sessions. See table below.

Monday 10th February Online Form invites will be sent and will be available to complete.
There will be an opportunity to log on and complete your choices during your computing lessons.
Friday 28thrd February 2025 DEADLINE - Option to be completed on-line. Be aware that some subjects will fill up quickly so please complete your form as soon as possible.Please note that there will be restrictions on some subjects and class sizes.
Week commencing Monday 3rd March 2025 Individual discussions held to finalise choices.
Monday 16th June 2025 Confirmation of choices letters sent out during this week
Thursday 19th June 2025 4.00pm -7.00pm Year 9 Parents Evening.
Year 9 Parents evening – this will be an opportunity to discuss your child’s progress and ask any further questions regarding the best option choices that your child has chosen.
